ADMISSION to the PROFESSIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM for Degree Seeking Students

1. Completion of 24 hours of university coursework at the time of application including:
• ED 155/Teaching Learning and Leadership
• ED 285/Educational Psychology

2. Successful passage of one of the following tests:
the CORE Academic Skills Test (writing/162, reading/156/math/150
an overall score of 22 or better on the ACT
an overall score of 1665 on the SAT

3. Secondary (6-12) and All levels (P-12) students must earn a grade of C or better in
each content area course from the approved degree plans of study

4. An overall gpa of 2.75 or better for all completed courses

5. Meet with an academic advisor in order to Declare a Major All ELEMENTARY Students are declared by the University Licensure Officer, Tara Porter

FEBRUARY 1st is the deadline for scholarship applications



STUDENT TEACHING admission criteria:
• a 2.75 gpa for CONTENT, EMPHASIS, and PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION courses
• an overall gpa of 2.50.
• Student teaching applications are accepted ONE YEAR prior to the student teaching semester.
